SWAMPLAND Kate Hodgetts, Jordon Wood, Pip Ryan

SWAMPLAND

KATE HODGETTS  JORDAN WOOD  PIP RYAN

Opening Night: Saturday 16th October
                      5.30pm-7.30pm
Swampland - A collaborative response to ideas of captivity and uncompromised order akin to the human experience in the urban environment.
A dystopian wasteland full of drudge, slop and darkness, discarded remnants of the modern world, things better hidden and forgotten.
Through video, sound, sculpture and installation the artists create a hybrid landscape demanding the viewer to navigate the maze before them. Enter into this ‘swampy hell’.
Like driving past a forest plantation with trees lining the road, separating the driver from what is happening beyond; the path of the exhibition is lined with debris swept up from the clearing, pits of bubbling goo. Beyond this darkness and depravity, off in the distance of the clearing there is a sign of hope, a hallucination or mirage of Eden.
If you listen you can hear signs of life.
